English Post

Hello, readers! This post is for those who have told me that they are anxious to read my blog but can't understand Portuguese. Last month, May, this blog got two years old! Since May,2010 I've been writing about anything that comes up to my mind. Things that may interest people, or not. After all, this is like a personal journal but not so daily! Well, for almost two months I've had an amazing time in the United States. This is one of the biggest changes I've faced in my life so far. From English teacher and a passionate Journalism student to a responsible AuPair. Isn't it curious how life gets changed in such a short time?! I had all my family, boyfriend and friends with me, used to drive/go to places well known to me, used to know almost everyone that I saw every day.. Now, I'm living with people who sometimes I tend to call "mom" and "dad", know almost nobody around here, don't drive/go to places I was used to.. What an amazing difference! I don't even play volleyball or soccer here!!!! From a convenient life that I had to myself to a life that's convenient to others. Do you think I complain about that? Noway! I chose it, I wanted to know how is life here, even having to renounce or give up of some comfortable things to me. Yes, some times I feel like I could be doing more things around here, but hopefully it's just for a while, the beggining. I totally love this life. Obviously, as a human being, I miss the "old life". But, waking up every day prepared to face new things and oportunities make me strong. Those who know me may say how brave and willing to do new things I am. Last late afternoon I went out with a new friend who I met at Church. We had dinner together and after that we went on a walk. For almost two months that I've been here, I didn't know many places around my house until yesterday. So we took a walk around a park, talked about life, tried to find an apartment she had seen to buy, she learned some new Portuguese words and expressions. Had a nice time out of my usual environment. Click here to see picture from yesterday. Well, I hope I can write you some more times! I wish you a great weekend. Take care!
